Waterfront Elegance in the Heart of Boston

We love performing at the Boston Harbor Hotel, a Forbes Five-Star landmark right on Rowes Wharf. This venue is one of the defining features of the Boston waterfront, pairing timeless beauty with harbor-side luxury. Imagine saying “I do” against a backdrop of sailboats and skyline – couples often hold their ceremony in the hotel’s Foster’s Pavilion, an airy space enclosed by panoramic glass offering 360° views of the city and harbor. The open-air Rotunda, with its iconic 80-foot dome, is another breathtaking spot. We’ve played acoustic music there for ceremonies and it feels like a grand observatory overlooking the water.

After vows are exchanged, guests transition to cocktail hour in the Harbor Hotel’s magnificent rotunda or outdoor harbor-walk area. Under the Rotunda’s domed ceiling, your guests mingle with a gentle ocean breeze coming off the private terrace. It’s a magical atmosphere – we often provide a jazz trio here, as the sun begins to set over the harbor. Then it’s on to the famous Wharf Room for the reception. This grand ballroom features 19-foot ceilings with sparkling chandeliers and three walls of floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Boston Harbor. We’ve performed on stages in many ballrooms, but the Wharf Room is truly special – as we strike up the first dance, lights from the harbor twinkle through the windows, creating a romantic glow. With up to 250 guests accommodated in 6,700+ square feet, the Wharf Room’s open layout and high ceiling give us plenty of room to set up our full band, complete with our dynamic lighting rig. Our Boston wedding band sound fills the space beautifully, enhanced by the water views on three sides. In our experience, a wedding at the Boston Harbor Hotel delivers the pinnacle of waterfront elegance – a luxury Boston wedding dream come true.

Historic Grandeur for a Classic Boston Wedding

Few Boston wedding venues can rival the historic grandeur of the Boston Public Library in Copley Square. We absolutely love when clients choose the BPL – there’s nothing quite like performing in a marble courtyard or a library reading room turned banquet hall! A wedding here is a journey through magnificent spaces. Many couples opt to hold their ceremony in the BPL’s Courtyard, an open-air oasis at the center of the McKim building. Picture exchanging vows under the arches, with a picturesque fountain burbling behind you and ivy-laced walls surrounding your guests. The Courtyard’s statuesque columns, water fountain, and lush greenery create a serene, European feel. It can seat about 200 guests for a ceremony, all of whom get to enjoy the unique experience of an outdoor ceremony in the heart of a historic Boston landmark.

After the ceremony, we often see cocktail hour also held in the Courtyard (weather permitting) – the BPL even allows an outdoor bar setup here. As your Boston wedding band, we might switch to playing some light jazz or classical tunes while guests sip cocktails in this garden-like setting. If it’s cooler or rainy, the library’s interior offers options like the Venetian-style Chavannes Gallery or the grand McKim Lobby with its marble lions for cocktail hour – either way, the atmosphere oozes culture and sophistication.

For the reception, one popular space at the BPL is Bates Hall, the library’s most iconic reading room. We remember the first time we performed in Bates Hall: walking up the marble staircase and seeing the rows of book-lined walls and the vaulted ceiling with its iconic green-shaded reading lamps took our breath away. Hosting dinner in this room truly makes your guests feel like characters in a classic movie. Bates Hall can accommodate roughly 300 seated guests for dinner. The long oak tables are often removed or repurposed for dining, and with florals and decor, the space transforms yet keeps its scholarly charm. The acoustics are surprisingly good for a large hall – our sound spreads out nicely beneath the high dome of the ceiling. Often, dancing will take place in an adjacent room such as the Abbey Room (which features gorgeous murals by Edwin Austin Abbey on the walls). We’ve set up our full band in the Abbey Room for the dance party portion, while background music played in Bates Hall during dinner. The logistics are seamless, thanks to the library’s experienced events team.

Performing at the Boston Public Library is a highlight for us as a band – the blend of historic Boston atmosphere and luxury is unparalleled. Our uplighting can accentuate the carved stone arches and bookcases, and when the music echoes a classic Frank Sinatra tune, you really feel transported. For couples seeking a one-of-a-kind Boston wedding steeped in history, the BPL offers an ambiance that’s both intellectually elegant and romantically grand. It’s truly a “wow” venue that leaves lasting memories (and incredible photos!).

Sky-High Sophistication Overlooking Boston Harbor

The State Room is, hands down, one of the most breathtaking wedding venues in Boston—and one of our absolute favorites to perform in. Perched high above downtown in the heart of the Financial District, the State Room offers floor-to-ceiling windows and jaw-dropping panoramic views of Boston Harbor and the skyline. It’s a bold, modern space that’s somehow both grand and minimal—a perfect blank canvas for an unforgettable luxury Boston wedding.

Most couples host their ceremony in the Great Room, the venue’s signature space. The Great Room features a 20-foot wall of glass that looks out over the Custom House Tower and the harbor beyond. As a band, we’ve played soft live music during countless ceremonies here, and every time, it’s pure magic—sunlight streaming in, the skyline glowing, and guests watching with wide eyes as the couple exchanges vows with Boston as their backdrop. You’re literally saying “I do” in the sky.

After the ceremony, guests typically head to the Harbor Room or Mezzanine level for cocktail hour. These spaces maintain that same sleek modern aesthetic, with chic lighting, contemporary furniture, and more stunning views. We often provide a jazz trio or acoustic duo for background music during this transition—just enough sound to complement the buzz of the room and the clink of champagne glasses. The atmosphere feels upscale, clean, and metropolitan. You get the sense you’re in a world-class event space, not just a hotel ballroom.

When it’s time to move into the Great Room for the reception, the transformation is breathtaking. The layout is flexible enough for weddings as intimate as 100 guests or as large as 400+, and the space adapts beautifully to different décor styles—classic, modern, romantic, dramatic. We usually set up in the front corner of the room, just beneath the massive windows. With the city lights twinkling behind us, we become part of the room’s architecture, not just entertainment. It creates a visual and emotional synergy that enhances the experience.

One thing that makes the State Room stand out from a performance standpoint is the acoustics—the room is designed for events, and it shows. Our sound carries beautifully through the space without bouncing or muddling. Add in our lighting, and the place becomes electric. Our uplights wash the sleek white walls in rich color, and when the dance floor opens, our intelligent lights sweep across the floor like a club—but one 33 stories in the sky.

What really sets the State Room apart is its uninterrupted views and soaring height. It feels like a penthouse wedding in a cosmopolitan film. Everything—from the ceremony to the last dance—feels elevated (literally and figuratively). If you’re planning a luxury Boston wedding and want your guests to walk away saying, “That was the most incredible view I’ve ever seen at a wedding,” the State Room is the place. Every time we play here, we’re reminded why Boston is one of the most spectacular wedding cities in the world—and this venue sits right at the top of that list.

Grand Ballrooms for Glamorous Celebrations

For couples hosting an especially large luxury wedding, Sheraton Boston Hotel (the Back Bay Sheraton) offers some of the biggest and best-equipped event spaces in the city. This upscale hotel in the heart of Back Bay boasts a Grand Ballroom complex that can host up to 2,100 guests for a lavish wedding gala.

We’ve been the choice Boston wedding band for multicultural events and grand receptions here – the scale is truly awe-inspiring. The centerpiece is the Back Bay Ballroom, a flexible space that can be divided into sections or used in its entirety for up to 1,500 guests (reception-style) or about 950 for a seated dinner. With 17,000 square feet of opulent space and 16-foot ceilings, this ballroom has ample room for a big dance floor, multi-level staging, and our full 9-piece band with horns and multiple vocalists.

Despite the grand scale, the Sheraton can also create intimate experiences. One unique feature is the hotel’s outdoor rooftop patio, where you can say your vows against the backdrop of downtown Boston. This scenic patio accommodates up to 200 guests for a ceremony or cocktail hour. Our popular piano and classical guitar duo is perfect for ceremonies on this terrace, with the Boston skyline enhancing the moment.

After an outdoor “I do,” guests can enjoy cocktails al fresco under market lights before moving inside. The ballroom’s expansive pre-function foyer is another popular spot for cocktail hour – it gives a hint of the grandeur to come, with space for live jazz music and hors d’oeuvres stations without feeling crowded (essential when you have hundreds of guests).

When it’s time for the reception in the Back Bay Ballroom, the effect is jaw-dropping. The Sheraton’s largest ballroom can even be extended to host up to 2,000 standing guests, making it one of Boston’s biggest wedding venues. We’ve set up everything from custom staging, LED uplights, to extra subwoofers here – and the room can handle it all. Despite its size, the neutral elegant décor (think soft tones and modern chandeliers) means we can use our lighting to transform the space to your vision – be it a pastel fairytale or a nightclub-style dance party.

Of course, Boston Premier energizes the huge dance floor, and with so much space, your guests will never feel cramped. The Sheraton Boston is the ultimate choice for couples who want a grand luxury Boston wedding with a ballroom celebration on a truly epic scale.

Iconic Back Bay Glamour and Gilded Ballrooms

The Fairmont Copley Plaza is the epitome of Boston ballroom glamour. We’ve performed at this iconic Back Bay hotel countless times, and it never loses its magic. From the moment you step into the lobby with its grand marble columns and gilded ceilings, you know a Fairmont Copley wedding is going to be extraordinary. This hotel offers multiple elegant event spaces, including the palatial Grand Ballroom and the enchanting Oval Room, each exuding timeless elegance.

For your ceremony, you have two stunning options. The Oval Room is a favorite for its romantic charm: an oval-shaped salon adorned with sparkling crystal chandeliers, intricate hand-carved moldings, French doors, and a breathtaking ceiling mural. We’ve seen ceremonies in the Oval Room where our keyboardist played the grand piano as the bride entered – the atmosphere is beyond compare. The Oval Room seats over 320 guests for a ceremony in opulent style. Alternatively, the Grand Ballroom can also host your ceremony if you have a very large guest list or want that dramatic aisle. The Grand Ballroom is the largest space at the Fairmont, boasting 6,090 square feet of gold-accented magnificence. Picture rows of guests seated beneath 30-foot gilded coffered ceilings and sparkling chandeliers – it’s truly a fairytale setting.

When it comes to cocktail hour, Fairmont Copley Plaza continues to shine. If your reception will be in the Oval Room, cocktails are typically held in the Venetian Room, an elegant chamber on the first floor featuring beautiful Venetian glass chandeliers and luxurious décor. We often provide a small jazz ensemble in the Venetian Room to keep the mood light and sophisticated as guests mingle. If your reception is in the Grand Ballroom, cocktails usually take place in the Ballroom Foyer, which is adjacent to the Grand Ballroom. The foyer offers an elegant space with stunning marble floors, soaring ceilings, and even a beautiful fountain accenting the room. It’s a perfect transitional space – we love how guests can enjoy a signature cocktail here while peeking into the ballroom as it’s being prepared for the reception.

Now, the reception at Fairmont Copley is where the hotel’s reputation truly lives up to the hype. The Grand Ballroom, in particular, is one of our favorite ballrooms in the city to perform in. With its exquisite details, glittering chandeliers, and gilded ornamentation, the space radiates a bygone era of luxury. For a seated dinner, the Grand Ballroom can accommodate around 550 guests comfortably (up to 800 at maximum capacity for certain setups). We’ve set up our band on the Grand Ballroom’s stage, framed by the rich drapery – it provides a great focal point. The room’s acoustics are excellent, and the band’s state-of-the-art audio system means our sound is well balanced and powerful, whether we’re playing a mellow jazz standard during dinner or a high-energy dance set later on.

Meanwhile, the Oval Room can host up to 300 guests for a reception, and its decor (ceiling mural, gold details, and those chandeliers) makes it feel like a glamorous ballroom from a European palace. In either space, our Boston Premier lighting packages – like elegant uplights or intelligent moving lights – enhance the already gorgeous architecture (we love to cast a warm glow on those gilded ceilings).

One thing we always notice at Fairmont Copley weddings is the impeccable white-glove service. As a band, we work closely with their event team and they ensure everything runs flawlessly on the timeline. When we strike up the 7 or 9-piece band for a first dance under the Grand Ballroom’s chandeliers, it’s a goosebump moment every time. A wedding at the Fairmont Copley Plaza truly captures luxury Boston wedding style – classic, grand, and absolutely unforgettable.

The Omni Parker House

  • Vibe: Historic charm with rich wood paneling and classic decor.
  • Experience: Elegant ballrooms perfect for traditional weddings.
  • Food: Renowned for the original Boston Cream Pie.
  • Views: City skyline and Charles River views from select spaces.
  • Pricing: Packages range from $275–$305 per person.

Historic Charm with a Rooftop View

As Boston’s (and America’s) longest continuously operating hotel, the Omni Parker House offers a blend of historic charm and elegant style that we adore. We’ve performed at intimate weddings and lively receptions here, and the Parker House always leaves an impression.

The crown jewel of its event spaces is the Rooftop Ballroom, a unique 15th-floor venue that provides an incredible setting for both ceremonies and receptions. The Rooftop Ballroom features a gracefully arched ceiling, crystal chandeliers, and panoramic views of Boston. When we play here, we often take a moment to appreciate the view – you can see Boston Common and the city skyline sparkling at night, which adds magic to any celebration.

For your ceremony, you might choose the Rooftop Ballroom itself or step just outside it onto the Wheatley Terrace, an adjoining outdoor terrace. The Wheatley Terrace is ideal for an open-air ceremony or cocktail hour, letting your guests enjoy fresh air and sweeping city vistas. We’ve played acoustic guitar for ceremonies on the terrace. Just imagine a gentle breeze and the sights of downtown Boston as you exchange vows. The backdrop makes for stunning photos too, with the historic Beacon Hill and State House dome visible in the distance. The Rooftop Ballroom can accommodate around 220 seated guests for a ceremony or dinner, and up to 250 for a standing reception, so it works well for medium-sized weddings.

After a terrace ceremony, guests typically flow into the adjacent Press Room or one of the Parker House’s rich wood-paneled rooms for cocktails (in cooler months, the Press Room is often used as the indoor cocktail space). But if weather permits, that Wheatley Terrace is absolutely perfect for cocktail hour – your guests can sip drinks under the city sky while we provide some light background music. We’ve often serenaded guests with our jazz trio out on the terrace as they enjoyed the Parker House’s famous hors d’oeuvres (yes, including their mini Boston cream pies – a nod to the hotel’s culinary legacy!).

When it’s reception time, the party moves back into the Rooftop Ballroom. This ballroom truly transports you to a bygone era. With its historic arched ceiling and sparkling chandeliers against the city backdrop, there’s a feeling of vintage glamour. The layout is elongated, which actually works nicely for a band setup and dance floor at one end. We usually set up in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows, so while the band performs, we can see the twinkling lights of downtown behind the crowd – an amazing sight for us and your guests alike. The acoustics are warm, and our sound carries well in the space without overwhelming it. Because it’s a historic venue, ceilings are a bit lower than modern ballrooms (adding to the intimate feel), but our audio sound engineer always ensures a perfect mix.

With around 200 guests, there’s plenty of room for dancing. We often bring our uplights to accent the pillars and arch of the ceiling, giving the room an added glow that complements the Omni Parker House’s classic ambiance.

Overall, a wedding at the Omni Parker House offers a quintessential Boston wedding vibe – rich in history (this is where John F. Kennedy proposed to Jackie!), centrally located for guests to enjoy the city, and elegant in a way that never goes out of style. And from our perspective, as your wedding band, performing in that Rooftop Ballroom with the city all around us is a thrill every single time. It’s intimate, classy, and uniquely Boston.

The Boston Marriott Long Wharf

Seaside Sophistication with Harbor Views

If a waterfront wedding in downtown Boston is your dream, the Boston Marriott Long Wharf should be high on your list. Situated right on Boston Harbor (next to the Aquarium), this venue offers the rare combination of seaside scenery and modern ballrooms. We’ve been part of many weddings here where the harbor itself becomes a starring guest. The Marriott Long Wharf provides a romantic maritime flavor to luxury weddings, which we as a band really enjoy – there’s something special about playing “At Last” while ships float by in the background.

Couples often utilize the Marriott’s spaces in a way that maximizes the views. One popular setup: a ceremony on the Harbor View Terrace, cocktail hour in the Harbor View Ballroom, and then a grand reception in the Grand Ballroom. The Harbor View Ballroom is a stunning space for either a ceremony or a smaller reception. True to its name, it has floor-to-ceiling windows framing panoramic views of the harbor. It accommodates up to 146 guests for a seated dinner or around 200 for a standing reception. Our DJ has played many ceremonies in this room – imagine walking down the aisle with sunlight reflecting off the water and illuminating the room. It’s simply gorgeous, and for a sunset ceremony, the light is phenomenal. If you have more than ~150 guests, ceremonies can also be held in the hotel’s Palm Garden Atrium, a unique indoor space with soaring glass ceilings and greenery that can seat up to 200 for vows. (We once provided a solo pianist for a ceremony in the atrium – the natural light and plants gave it an almost outdoor feel.)

For cocktail hour, the connected Harbor View Terrace is a showstopper. This outdoor terrace lets guests enjoy cocktails literally at the water’s edge. In the evening, they even have seasonal fire pits out there, creating a cozy social spot as the harbor breeze drifts by. We usually set up a small speaker system to pipe in some chill music (or sometimes live acoustic guitar) so that guests have a soundtrack as they watch the boats sail past. It’s hard to top a cocktail hour on a terrace with such picture-perfect harbor views – your guests will be talking about it long after.

When it’s time for the reception, the Marriott Long Wharf Grand Ballroom offers a blend of modern style and ample space. This ballroom can seat up to 450 guests for dinner (or even more for a cocktail-style reception), making it ideal for larger luxury weddings. What’s cool about the Grand Ballroom is its subtle nautical design: it features an original hand-crafted ceiling reminiscent of a ship’s hull, a nod to the venue’s maritime locale. We’ve found that this unique ceiling not only looks interesting but also provides good acoustics (wooden architecture can warm the sound). From a band’s perspective, the Grand Ballroom is a fantastic blank canvas – its neutral tones and modern lighting allow us to splash your chosen colors across the walls with our LED uplights. We typically set our stage at one end, leaving a huge dance floor in the center. Because it’s a newer hotel, the power supply and load-in facilities are excellent (a little detail that means we can set up more efficiently and focus on sound-check to ensure perfect audio for you).

One more highlight: being on Long Wharf, this hotel is steps away from the harborwalk. Some couples even arrange for a dramatic entrance via boat! We played a reception where the newlyweds arrived by water taxi – guests watched from the Harbor View Terrace and cheered as they docked. Moments like that make a Marriott Long Wharf wedding truly distinctive among Boston wedding venues.

To sum up: this venue gives you the quintessential Boston harbor atmosphere combined with the comfort of a luxury hotel. From serenading your harborfront ceremony to rocking the boat (so to speak) on the ballroom dance floor, we cherish every opportunity to perform at this seaside gem.

Five-Star Luxury Overlooking the Public Garden/strong>

When it comes to luxury Boston weddings, the Four Seasons Hotel Boston offers an experience that is second to none. This five-star hotel, located across from the Boston Public Garden, is renowned for its impeccable service and elegant event spaces. We’ve performed at many Four Seasons weddings and can attest that everything here – from the cuisine to the acoustics – is top-tier. If you’re dreaming of a sophisticated downtown wedding with a stunning park view, this is your venue.

One of the unique features of Four Seasons Boston is that you can have an outdoor-feeling ceremony right in the city. Couples sometimes choose to say “I do” in the hotel’s intimate rooftop courtyard, which offers fresh air and a glimpse of the Public Garden’s treetops. It’s a lovely option for a smaller ceremony with a garden ambiance (and a great backup if rain is a concern, since it’s partially covered). Alternatively, many ceremonies here take place in one of the Four Seasons’ light-filled event spaces. The hotel’s main Ballroom is especially popular for ceremonies and can easily be flipped to reception during cocktail hour. This ballroom features floor-to-ceiling windows with expansive views of the Public Garden and Beacon Hill. Just imagine reciting your vows with the backdrop of trees and the city skyline beyond. It’s truly the best of both worlds: an indoor ceremony with all the comforts (and A/C) of a hotel, but with a gorgeous outdoor view that changes with the seasons (from spring blossoms to fall foliage in the Garden).

For cocktail hour, Four Seasons Boston has several elegant spaces. Often, the adjacent Aujourd’hui room or foyer is used, where guests can continue to admire the Public Garden view while enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. We typically provide soft music – perhaps a saxophone and keyboard duo playing classy standards – as the hotel’s white-gloved staff circulates with champagne. The atmosphere is refined and relaxed, giving guests a taste of five-star hospitality.

Now the Ballroom reception at the Four Seasons is where the hotel’s luxury really shines. The Ballroom (approximately 3,710 sq. ft.) can host around 300 guests for a banquet and up to 400 for a reception. Its decor is classic and elegant: high ceilings with crystal chandeliers, neutral-toned walls, and those beautiful big windows we mentioned. One of our favorite aspects as a band is the built-in stage – the Four Seasons Ballroom has an alcove stage area perfect for live entertainment, so we set up as if we are part of the room’s design rather than an afterthought. The sound in this room is excellent; we’ve fine-tuned our setup so that whether we’re playing a Motown medley or a soft acoustic dinner set, every note is crisp without echo. Because the room isn’t overly cavernous, the energy on the dance floor stays high – even with 200+ people dancing, it feels vibrant and connected.

The Four Seasons team also pays a lot of attention to lighting and details. We often coordinate with their production crew to sync our lighting effects with the room’s dimming schedule, so when it’s time to dance, the lights lower and our uplights around the perimeter kick in to create a dreamy glow. The result is a dance party that feels as luxe as a nightclub but as intimate as a private celebration. And of course, being a Four Seasons, the service is flawless – things just happen seamlessly, from the timing of dinner to the clearing of tables for more dance space.

In summary, a Four Seasons Boston wedding means classic luxury. As Boston Premier, we relish performing here because everything is designed to perfection, allowing us to focus on delivering an amazing musical experience. The combination of Public Garden views, elegant ballrooms, and world-class service makes this venue a standout choice for a luxury Boston wedding that will wow your guests. Your wedding album will be filled with shots of you twirling under chandeliers with the city lights outside – a true Boston dream come true.

The InterContinental Boston

Boston Premier Vocalists performing at a Boston InterContinental Wedding.

Modern Waterfront Luxury on Fort Point Channel

For a chic and contemporary take on Boston luxury, the InterContinental Boston is a fantastic venue choice. This hotel sits right on Fort Point Channel, blending modern design with waterfront Boston history (it’s located on the very site of the Boston Tea Party!). We’ve had the pleasure of performing in the InterContinental’s sleek ballrooms many times, and we’re always impressed by the marriage of cutting-edge facilities with lovely harbor views. It’s ideal for couples who want a polished, modern Boston wedding venue that can accommodate large guest counts in style.

One of the InterContinental’s strengths is its versatile event spaces – the hotel has two primary ballrooms that can host weddings of different sizes. For grand weddings, the Rose Kennedy Ballroom is an absolute showstopper. This ballroom is 10,653 square feet of pure elegance – one of the largest in Boston – and can accommodate over 1,100 guests for a reception. We’ve played some pretty big weddings here, and the space handled it with ease. Despite the size, the design isn’t a plain convention hall – it has beautiful carpeting, modern chandeliers, and large windows overlooking Fort Point Channel and the Seaport area, so you still get a sense of place. When we set up our full band on the expansive stage in Rose Kennedy Ballroom, with intelligent lighting around us, it truly feels like a concert venue – we can go big with sound and lighting, which is a thrill. Yet, thanks to the room’s modern acoustical engineering, the audio remains clear (they’ve built these ballrooms with events in mind).

For smaller (but still sizable) weddings, the Abigail Adams Ballroom is a great option. This space offers about 4,992 square feet and can be divided or used whole. It comfortably fits up to ~300-500 guests depending on layout. The Abigail Adams Ballroom features the same floor-to-ceiling window aesthetic as its big sister, so your guests can enjoy views of the city skyline and water as they celebrate. We’ve noticed that even in the Abigail Adams, the InterContinental’s style comes through: contemporary lighting fixtures, sleek neutral decor, and top-notch tech.

This room is ideal for those who want a modern feel but don’t have a 600+ guest list. We find the intimacy of the slightly smaller space can lead to really energetic dance floors – when we have 200 guests tearing it up to “Don’t Stop Believin’” in Abigail Adams Ballroom, the excitement is palpable yet everything still feels sophisticated.

Now, whether you choose Rose Kennedy or Abigail Adams, you’ll likely utilize the prefunction spaces for your ceremony or cocktail hour. The InterContinental has a very elegant pre-function foyer adjacent to these ballrooms, with contemporary art and plenty of natural light. In fact, this pre-function space next to the ballroom can accommodate all your guests for a cocktail reception. We often set up a smaller sound system in the foyer to play some upbeat background tunes as guests sip cocktails and admire views through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Some couples also opt to hold their ceremony in the ballroom (flipping it for reception) or in one of the InterContinental’s other event spaces, like the Harbor Room, which directly overlooks the water. We once played for a ceremony where the couple arrived by boat and walked right into an outdoor ceremony along the waterfront promenade – a grand entrance that only a venue like the InterContinental can allow (they literally “dock and wed”!).

From a band’s perspective, we love the InterContinental’s modern infrastructure. The stages are sturdy, the power supply is robust (critical for our equipment), and there’s even intelligent rigging points for extra lighting or decor. When the dance party hits, and our music is pulsing, those huge windows sometimes reflect the fun – you catch glimpses of the Boston Harbor Hotel across the channel and the city lights, reminding everyone they are in the vibrant heart of Boston.

In summary, the InterContinental Boston offers a contemporary luxury vibe with a waterfront twist. It’s spacious and stylish, perfect for grand celebrations or upscale intimate affairs alike. When we play here, we’re struck by how excited guests get – maybe it’s the modern glamour, or the fact that they can step outside to a waterfront terrace for a breather, then come back in to dance. If you want a blend of cutting-edge and classic Boston harbor scenery, the InterContinental delivers on both counts, and we’re always thrilled to bring our music to its beautiful ballrooms.

Contemporary Elegance in Back Bay

Located in the heart of Back Bay, The Westin Copley Place is a popular choice for luxurious Boston weddings, and for good reason. This hotel offers multiple event spaces that can cater to a variety of wedding sizes and styles, all with the Westin’s signature contemporary elegance. We’ve performed everything from a 125-guest intimate reception to a 400-guest multicultural extravaganza at the Westin Copley, and the venue adapts beautifully. If you’re looking for a downtown Boston venue that combines modern style with a touch of city skyline charm, the Westin Copley should be on your shortlist.

One thing we appreciate about the Westin is the variety of ballrooms and rooms available. For instance, the Staffordshire Room (sometimes spelled Stratford Room) is a gem for ceremonies or smaller receptions. It features floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Copley Square and the Boston Public Library, placing you right in the middle of the Back Bay cityscape. We’ve played acoustic duos for ceremonies in this room – as you exchange vows, you and your guests can gaze out at the historic BPL and Trinity Church across the street, which lends an unmistakable “Boston” feel. The natural light is abundant, and it can seat around 200+ for a ceremony (or up to ~240 for a reception). Saying “I do” with the city as your backdrop then seamlessly transitioning to a reception in a larger ballroom is a common and smart flow here.

For larger weddings, the Westin’s ballrooms come into play. The two primary large spaces are the Essex Ballroom and the America Ballroom. The Essex Ballroom can host up to around 400 guests banquet-style and has a modern design with soft earth tones, sleek lines, and an adjoining foyer. We find it perfect for couples who want a big wedding but still value a stylish, somewhat contemporary look (versus a very traditional ballroom). The Essex Ballroom’s foyer is great for cocktail hour – guests can mingle just outside the doors, then we swing them open to reveal the reception setup when it’s time to dine and dance.

Now, if you have a very large guest list, the America Ballroom is one of the largest in the city. This grand space can seat up to 1,000 guests for dinner and up to 2,000 standing. It’s massive – the kind of ballroom used for galas and New Year’s Eve balls – so as a wedding band, the prospect of filling it with sound and energy is both challenging and exciting (challenge accepted!). We’ve brought in extra speakers and even line-array sound systems for particularly large weddings in the America Ballroom to ensure every one of those 1,000 guests hears the music perfectly. The ballroom is divisible into sections, so it’s versatile for scaling down if needed. What’s nice is that even with its size, the Westin keeps it visually appealing – think modern chandeliers and subtle color schemes that you can dress up with your wedding colors.

When it comes to the atmosphere and how we as Boston Premier enhance it: The Westin’s modern vibe means we often incorporate our high-end lighting to complement the space. For example, in a trendy Westin wedding, we might set up moving lights that sync with the beat during the open dancing, turning the ballroom into a club-like scene for the after-party. Conversely, we can keep things classy with static amber uplighting during dinner against those floor-to-ceiling windows in Staffordshire, highlighting the architecture and that city view.

One more plus – logistics. The Westin Copley is connected to the Copley Place mall and parking, which is great for guests (and for us loading our gear, protected from any bad weather!). Also, the hotel has lots of room for after-parties or brunch the next day, so your wedding can turn into a whole weekend affair under one roof.

All in all, The Westin Copley Place offers a blend of convenience, style, and capacity that few Boston venues can match. Whether you’re aiming for a chic city-view ceremony for 100 or a full-throttle dance party for 1000, the Westin has a space that fits. And as the band, we’re equipped and eager to make each of those spaces come alive with music – be it gentle melodies during a window-side ceremony or bass-thumping hits in a packed ballroom. This venue truly showcases the versatility of luxury Boston weddings, accommodating both the intimate and the grand with equal finesse.

Bold and Modern in the Seaport District

Rounding out our list is a venue that combines contemporary flair with a vibrant Seaport location: the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel. Over in the booming Seaport District, this hotel has become one of our favorite places to perform due to its stylish design and versatile spaces. If you’re envisioning a modern celebration with ocean-inspired décor and skyline views, the Renaissance Boston Waterfront could be the perfect fit.

The Renaissance offers several distinct event spaces. For smaller gatherings or as additional spaces, there’s the Brewster Room, which we adore for cocktail hours or intimate ceremonies. It boasts floor-to-ceiling windows with magnificent city views and is flooded with natural light. It can seat up to 100 guests – ideal for a cozy ceremony or a separate lounge area. We’ve provided an acoustic guitarist in the Brewster Room as guests enjoyed cocktails, soaking in the sunset over the Boston skyline – a very cool city-chic experience.

For the main events, the Renaissance has two main ballrooms: the Atlantic Ballroom and the Pacific Ballroom. The Atlantic Ballroom is perfect for medium-large weddings (up to about 300 guests dinner-style). What sets Atlantic apart is its dramatic design. The room features beautiful wood architectural details and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Seaport. It even has an elegant staircase that leads up to a mezzanine cocktail reception area – talk about making an entrance! We’ve seen couples descend that staircase to join their reception, and it’s always an epic moment (often we’ll strike up a lively tune as you enter to cheers). The natural light and harbor views from Atlantic Ballroom are fantastic; during daytime events, you see boats and blue sky, and at night the lights of the Seaport sparkle. The space is very open, so we easily set up a sizable dance floor in the middle and arrange our band at one end. The high ceiling and wooden accents provide a warm acoustic, making our live music sound great.

For even larger celebrations, the Pacific Ballroom is the Renaissance’s grand ballroom. It’s an expansive space with a lighthearted, airy ambiance and an effervescent color palette. Pacific can accommodate around 600 guests for dinner (and up to 720 theater-style, 1,000 standing). Despite its size, it’s not your typical plain box – the decor is contemporary with subtle ocean hues, befitting the waterfront locale. We’ve performed for big weddings in Pacific Ballroom where we brought in our full concert-style production: stage risers, additional bass subs and lighting, you name it. The room can handle it and still feel inviting. And with space for a huge dance floor, you can bet we’ll get a massive crowd moving when it’s time – there’s no such thing as “too many people” to dance in Pacific!

From a Boston Premier perspective, the Renaissance Waterfront really lets us flex our creative muscles. The hotel’s vibe is artsy and “surprisingly different” (true to the Renaissance brand). We often tailor our setlist a bit when we’re here, maybe throwing in a trendy Top 40 remix or a classic with a modern twist, matching the venue’s modern vibe. The staff are young and energetic, keeping the event flow fun and on-trend.

Finally, location is a plus: being in the Seaport, your guests have endless options for after-parties at nearby bars or making a weekend of it visiting the area’s restaurants and attractions. We’ve noticed that weddings here tend to attract a lively crowd, ready to celebrate Boston’s new vibrant neighborhood.

In short, the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel offers bold modern luxury. It’s a canvas where you can paint a dramatic, stylish wedding – and we’re the band that loves to provide the soundtrack. Whether you’re dancing among wooden beams with harbor views in the Atlantic Ballroom or packing the Pacific Ballroom with an extravaganza of lights, music, and joy, this venue encapsulates the energy of Boston’s Seaport. As musicians, we feed off that energy, making your Renaissance wedding an unforgettable celebration that blends Boston’s maritime legacy with its contemporary boom.
